Be My Story is an AI fiction service for people aged 16 and over.
We store your account identifier, email address and available display name to sign you in and associate your stories with your account. We store your character name, messages, generated story history and reply allowance. Supabase processes account authentication. Your password is handled by authentication services, not sent to the story model. Your optional profile bio and selected profile and cover photos are stored locally on your device.
Only after your permission, your character name, story inputs and relevant conversation history are sent through OpenRouter to the selected provider running the DeepSeek model. Provider routing can change. Anything personal that you type is part of that content. Review OpenRouter’s privacy policy. We do not promise that downstream providers never retain content or use it for training. Avoid including sensitive personal information. You may withdraw permission in the app; withdrawal stops future requests from that device, not requests already sent.
Apple or Google Play and RevenueCat process subscriptions. Your account identifier and purchase/entitlement information are used to verify access and allocate Sparks. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Review RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Stories and account records are kept to provide continuity until you delete your account. Device copies may persist until that device reconnects or you erase its app data. Account deletion is available in Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deleting an account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. You can also request account deletion on the web. Contact us for privacy requests, questions about provider-held records, or any unsuccessful deletion. Any legally required retention or backup limitations applicable to your request will be explained when we respond.
Operational diagnostics use request identifiers, model/provider names and bounded error codes, rather than story text or credentials. Holding an AI message and choosing Report message lets Android users send the selected reply, up to three preceding message excerpts, and account and conversation identifiers directly to Be My Story for safety review without leaving the app. Reports are stored privately for human follow-up and may be retained after account deletion when needed for safety investigation; contact support about removal. On iOS, the same action prepares an email draft that you review and send yourself. Anything you send to support is used to investigate and respond.
The Android app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used and to improve it. It collects an app-instance identifier, device and operating-system details, approximate location derived from your IP address, and usage events such as first open, sessions and screens viewed. It does not receive your story text, messages, password or payment details, is not linked to your Be My Story account, and does not collect your device advertising ID. Google processes this data under Google’s privacy policy; see also Firebase privacy information. The iOS app does not use Google Analytics.
You can decline AI sharing and read existing saved stories, manage subscriptions in the App Store or Google Play, or request access, correction and deletion of your information. Contact support@bemystory.app. We do not currently run advertising or cross-app tracking.
